On a dike in Durgerdam overlooking the Markermeer, less than 15 minutes’ drive from Amsterdam, are two buildings which we are transforming into a boutique hotel. The hotel will have 14 rooms between 17 m2 and 36 m2. The buildings are situated on a spacious plot: the future garden with local plants, an insect hotel and bird houses. The architectural features of Durgerdam are reflected in the exterior and interior, with a warm and rural feel. The homely atmosphere and comfort are reflected in the hotel and restaurant. The project is a collaboration with Kentie & Partners.
Six buildings between three inner-city canals, Amstel, Nieuwe Prinsengracht and the Onbekendegracht, are being converted into a new hotel concept.
During the stripping work, we came across interesting vaults, one of the many references to the rich history of this building.
